Old Guitars, Cheap Guitars?

Everybody loves a classic guitar. Something about those vintage chunks of wood with strings just work us up on the inside. Of course it has to be in good shape and easy to play, but something about the feel and sound (and sometimes even the smell) of an old guitar is just the best thing in the world. With age comes wisdom, or in this case, tone. The older the woods in the guitar, typically, the better the tone. Well that brings up another thought.

I personally have several guitars ranging in value and age, but my favorite workhorse is a late 70's Harmony acoustic guitar with a 2012 Fishman Rare Earth sound hole pickup. I know... Harmony!! Who cares right?... Well, it seems that everyone that plays it or hears it, loves it. So maybe I just have a rare guitar that someone took pride in making, or maybe Good doesn't necessarily mean Expensive. Who knows? Until next time.

Missing the Boat... !!

It was the 3rd of July and I'm hanging out with the Family and Friends at Lake Blackshear getting ready for a concert that night (I wasn't playing, I was the lighting engineer for the Lee Brice concert). A buddy of mine Cole Taylor (www.coletaylormusic.com ) was about to take a boat ride with a friend of his and invited me along... That's when I should have said Yep and went ahead, but NO... I stayed and worked at the stage. When he got back to shore I noticed that Lee Brice was on the boat too!! I'm always trying to find ways to pitch my music to the people in the industry. Always looking for the perfect opportunity, and trust me they are hard to come by. Well Today I definitely... Missed The Boat!!

Heading to a show...

No matter how big or small a show is, I always get nervous before it. I'm not sure if it's the nerves of actually playing and singing, or if it's the "x" factor nerves. I'm always running everything through my head like... "did i pack the mics, did i get my tuner, did i get my guitar..." You get what I'm saying right? Anyway, if anyone has any great ideas on how to eliminate this issue, I am all ears. Thanks for the advice and keep on rocking!

DPM App Store?

So my IT guy comes up to me the other day and tells me that he wants to take my unplugged acoustic style into this century. I'm thinking that I need to fire him because that's not what I do, but he convinces me that we can make this happen, entertain the people, and I will still keep my americana/folk cred. Well since it will entertain you, the people, I was more than willing to give it a shot. So my question for YOU is what type of app would you like to see. Where is your DPM shirt?

I am currently asking people to take pictures of themselves (or someone else) when they are wearing their Daniel Parrish Music shirt and send the pics to me. I will get them all organized and put them on a fan page very soon, but for now I am just posting them to facebook. Please send me the pics and tell me where the pic was taken. Have fun with it.
